A Reseach Group has produced several publications. "The Public Houses of Sandhurst and Crowthorne 1740 - 1950" , "Sandhurst in the Second World War" and "Sandhurst - How it has changed" are available for purchase.
Unfortunately "Sandhurst Farms" and "A look back in time "(a history of the larger houses and estates around Sandhurst) are both out of print.
The Society was formed by a small group of enthusiasts who wished to meet locally to discuss various historical topics and to make occasional visits to places of particular interest. Meetings are held on the last Thursday of each month (except August & December) and commence at 7.30pm. Refreshments are available after the presentation or talk when there is opportunity for a discussion before the meeting is closed around 9.00pm.
Sandhurst Historical Society was formed in 1996 and since then has held regular talks and discussions at the Sandhurst Community Hall as well as conducting some research on local topics and making visits to sites of particular interest. Our membership fees are £15 a year (visitors pay £2 to attend a meeting) Have a look at our speakers' programme and join us. You will be warmly welcomed.
MEETINGS START AT 7.30 p.m. at the Community Hall, Yorktown Road, Sandhurst GU47 9BJ
